Based on recent reports by Pew Internet & American Life Project, 80% of U.S. Internet Users access health information online, and of the 88% of U.S. adults that own a cell phone, approximately half own smartphones. ComScore's 2012 Mobile: Future in Focus indicates that as of December 2011 about 8% of observed Internet traffic was driven by mobile phones and connected devices (tablets, e-readers and other web-enabled handheld devices). ComScore Data Mine also reports that the U.S. audience accessing health information content via mobile device is on the rise, 16.9 million U.S. mobile users during the three-month average period ending November 2011.
