Horizon Lines ship rescues sailboat passengers

Horizon Lines Inc. said one of its container ships rescued three sailboat passengers adrift in the Pacific Ocean before dawn on Wednesday.

All three male passengers — a 9-year-old boy, his 33-year-old father and a 29-year-old man — are in good health aboard the Horizon Reliance, Capt. James Kelleher said.

The rescue happened about 472 miles east of Honolulu at about 2 a.m. local time after the sailboat passengers reportedly told the U.S. Coast Guard that their boat had no power and all of its sails were destroyed...
